Field Engineer
Job Summary
The Field Engineer assists LandSouth’s project team members by supporting the day-to-day tasks of onsite project coordination. This position is designed to further the educational components and experiences of ground-up multifamily construction by providing various forms of hands-on exposure to project management practices, processes, and software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with supervising subcontractors and vendors and provide frequent project updates to the Superintendent.
- Walk the units to monitor progress, safety, efficiency, workmanship, adherence to plans, and material quality.
- Assist the project team with submittals and RFIs as directed.
- Support project documentation tasks including maintaining plans, files, reports, change orders, manuals, chargeback records, schedules, permits, code requirements, approvals, inspection records, meeting notes, and forms.
- Maintain and organize job site activity logs including construction progress photographs, inventory, rental equipment, appliances, third-party labor timesheets, and notices.
- Ensure project information is readily available by promptly scanning and uploading job site documents into designated project folders.
- Assist the project team in organizing the site to promote maximum productivity.
- Help with scheduling site and building inspections with respective agencies.
- Coordinate material deliveries as requested by the Superintendent.
- Assist with punch-related items.
- Serve as a safety advocate by promoting and enforcing safety policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an educational program (university or trade school) with a focus on construction management or a related field is highly preferred.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office software and project management applications. Must be technically savvy and proficient in using computers, iPads, inputting data, and resolving minor technical issues.
- OSHA 30 certified or must complete certification within a designated time frame (at the company's expense).

Additional Requirements
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
