SUMMARY

The Field Engineer supports the project team by assisting with onsite operations, emphasizing job site safety, accurate and timely documentation, and progress monitoring. This role helps maintain jobsite organization, coordinates subcontractor activities, and tracks materials. The position contributes to meeting schedule and compliance goals through inspection coordination, detailed recordkeeping, and verification of adherence to quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Project Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents with daily jobsite activities to support project progress and maintain quality workmanship
  • Walk units to monitor progress, safety, efficiency, compliance with plans, and material quality
  • Assist with supervising subcontractors and vendors and deliver frequent updates to the project team on field activities, progress, and any delays
  • Coordinate material deliveries as requested and help organize the jobsite to promote maximum productivity
  • Coordinate and support material deliveries, ensuring proper unloading, on-site storage, and usage
  • Serve as a safety advocate by promoting and enforcing established safety policies and procedures
  • Support project documentation tasks including handling submittals, RFIs, change orders, manuals, chargeback records, schedules, and code compliance records
  • Maintain and organize jobsite logs including photo documentation of construction progress, inventory, rental equipment, appliances, labor timesheets, and notices
  • Maintain current and accurate project records including drawings, permits, inspection reports, and meeting notes
  • Ensure project information is readily available by promptly scanning and uploading documents into designated project folders in Procore
  • Review construction drawings and submittals to build technical knowledge and improve field leadership readiness
  • Schedule and coordinate site and building inspections with the appropriate authorities
  • Ensure inspection documentation is prepared in advance and deadlines are communicated
  • Assist with punch list completion and support resolution of jobsite issues

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology
  • Skilled in using computers, smartphones, and iPads, inputting data, and verifying the accuracy of information
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within a designated time frame
