SUMMARY

The Assistant Superintendent supports the Project Superintendent by overseeing onsite project operations with a focus on jobsite safety, progress tracking, and maintaining efficiency and quality standards. This role monitors subcontractor performance, enforces compliance with building plans and codes, and proactively resolves issues. The Assistant Superintendent plays a key role in driving schedule adherence, documentation, and quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining project documentation including drawings, reports, permits, RFIs, meeting notes, and inspection records
  • Support the development and execution of 3–6 week look-ahead schedules, anticipating coordination and logistical challenges
  • Participate in meetings by preparing relevant materials, taking actionable notes, and ensuring follow-through
  • Understand and apply plan details, submittals, and codes to identify deficiencies and support RFI resolution
  • Support quality control by conducting regular site observations and inspections to ensure work meets project specifications, safety standards, and company expectations
  • Ensure all work aligns with plans, specifications, building codes, and owner expectations
  • Supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule, providing regular updates to the Project Superintendent
  • Perform and document site inspections and third-party walks to verify compliance and quality
  • Leverage Procore tools to complete and document required safety observations, inspections, and punch list items
  • Promote and enforce safety protocols while maintaining a clean, organized jobsite through proactive housekeeping and logistics planning
  • Identify and resolve project issues independently while mitigating risks
  • Track and communicate subcontractor progress with accurate updates and photos to support schedule management
  • Coordinate and prepare for third-party and waterproofing inspections, resolving issues proactively to reduce rework
  • Contribute to daily logs and ensure all documentation is properly organized and stored for project closeout
  • Manage project punch process and support unit turnover, ensuring owner satisfaction and acceptance

  REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of related construction experience, preferably in multifamily projects
  • Strong understanding of multi-unit civil, architectural, structural, and MEP project plans and specifications
  • OSHA 30 certification or ability to obtain within a designated time frame
  • Proficiency in Procore or a similar project management platform
